Coperative living on Marshall Boulevard (2358 S. MARSHALL BLVD.)
by TedErnst on Jul.24, 2008, under Housing
The HUB Housing cooperative is an intentional community that
cooperatively owns a 6-unit building. We will have two 2-bedroom
units available effective July 1. A third 1-bedroom unit will be
available Jan. 2009. All units recently remodeled. Features: New
kitchens and bathrooms, hardwood floors, new appliances, new windows,
upgraded electrical and lots of storage space. Free on-site laundry
facilities. We also have a well-equipped bike shop in the basement
and 2 resident bike mechanics. We meet regularly and share meals and
other activities, including courtyard gardening and composting and
neighborhood outreach. Purchase of a unit is co-op financed, starting
at $15,000 down payment for full co-op membership rights. Rental
option may be available for 1 year only ($800 – $1,200 per month).

Sorry it’s taken me nearly a year to get this posted. These images link to PDFs, one for the front page and one for the back page. The Sun Times did a great job on these stories.
